Team: You Need to Support One Another This Week!

Not to imply you're not usually supportive (although there has been a lot of happily shared food porn amongst you, even when I'm present...); however, I will be out of the office in Florida this week (in a bathing suit -- please imagine immediately how you would feel if you had to put on a bathing suit RIGHT NOW) and cannot badger anyone effectively from that distance (do not breathe a sigh of relief Joe or Nate).  Each of you need to encourage the others, especially the ones who show signs of receding in interest or intensity; who cannot remain committed to their own goals.  It's week 7!  Not much time left.  Or, in another way of thinking, there is a lifetime left, and you're just 7 weeks into preparing to make it the best lifetime you can.  :)  I like that...

I'd like to challenge you all to blog effectively -- some of your posts are so amazing and helpful to all of us -- and to check in with each other on your progress.  Team is more than just an occasional gathering -- it's really trying to be supportive and empathetic and strong for one another.

Let me come back from Florida to find my team strong and engaged.  Best thing I can imagine.

  1. Tonight's TEAM workout.....hhhhmmmmm where do I begin? Let's start by saying that the group was small but we were focused. Andrea, Scott, Rick and myself. We mixed things up a bit, I believe that Honey Badger would have approved. It was amazing...we worked to exhaustion and I know that we will all be happy we did. Will you be happy with your work out today?

  2. Where is everybody? I have a sneaking suspicion that some may not be keeping their journals. I fully intend to review every one of them in the coming week. Be prepared!

  3. I'll admit I have been lacking. My food hasn't been too bad but my workouts are suffering. I knwo that 'not having time' isn't an excuse because I was just as busy a few weeks ago when I was full go at the BL and changes. So let's just mark it up to laziness. It's so easy to slip into a routine of what's easy. I need to remind myself that doing what is uncomfortable is what builds success. I am my own worst enemy so I take full credit or blame. At the same time I would put partial blame on my accountability partner for not staying after me since I work better in team settings. I would request that even though I may not be your accountability partner I would appreciate a reminder or a challenge every once in a while to help me get back into the positive routine I need. Thank you to those who do already; Jenny, Maddy, and Andrea.
Included in that positive reinforcement I have decided being as it is Lent and being Irish-Catholic I am used to sacrifice and denying thy self (jk). For Lent and hopefully forever I am quitting smoking cold turkey starting this weekend. I could really use all your support in this postive but difficult battle that I WILL win.
With those previous thoughts in mind, I just recently found out that a habit is formed over 21 days. S oto all of you that have been consistent for over the 21 day mark, Congratulations! For all of us that have waivered in our efforts, I challenge you to find it in yourself to go strong for 21 days of forming the good habits (eating right, working out, making the required phone calls for business success). Taking these formed habits it will be harder to break them if they become a part of your routine.
All the cards on the table, I'm back in! Let's make this 2nd half of the BL a great one and the beginning of our lifestyle change lasting!

  4. So happy for you, Tom! That's so great you're quitting. If you get the munchies, come over and I'll share my green tea and emergency snacks with you. :-)

  5. tom, I am so glad to see you re-commit to the process. And, delighted about your newfound approach to breaking one of the most challenging habits to break. Turn to all of us for support, for we will be there for you.
