Seriously, is this blog even being viewed?

Last week was the worst week on this blog in a long time for views/comments.  Like all of you, I find it hard to remain motivated in the face of disinterest.  The blog is not for me.  It is for you.  It is for you to interact as a team.  To continue to encourage one another to eat healthy.  To exercise.  To commit to the lifestyle that you want for yourself.  We are in week 9 of a 12 week competition.  It is too early to disassociate from the rest of the team.  What will you do when you find yourself trying to manage and maintain a healthy lifestyle with no support?

Let us know what you're thinking!  Your thoughts are valuable.  Contribute to your team.

All of us find it hard to remain motivated without any feedback.  We are all human, after all...

What do you think you cannot do? Make a commitment to yourself to do it, even in the face of your fears.

  2. My group workout tonight at my gym involved 14 different exercises, 4 reps of 25. The last few weeks I felt that I hit a plateau and my workouts weren't cutting it anymore. Going all out during the workouts and fighting through the burn and fatigue has helped me. Fighting throuh the last rep means I am pushing myself as hard as I can and in turn will reap the rewards.

When I heard at my workout what the plan was, I thought for sure I wouldn't be able to complete it all without cheating. But I know that I can push myself.

After two solid months of working out, I think we all can take ourselves to the next level and know that YOU CAN DO THIS!

Great job Andrea!! Way to dig deep and push through and persevere. I've heard that when you feel like you hit a plateau switch the workout up. Same goal different movements. The exercises will be different so the muscle memory will not be there and it will force your body to change thus finding the foothole to start climbing off that plateau and continuing up the mountain. Keep up the fight!

I had a great workout last night. As previously mentioned I suffered a neck injury a few weeks ago. After some strength exercises and a few chiropractor visits later I am able to fully workout again. I was very excited to get back in the gym last night. Even though I didn't push myself too hard for fear of re-injuring I definitely got a solid workout in. I am really pumped to keep on trucking to the finish line.

Im not really big on cardio stuff mainly because I never gave myself the opportunity to push through the quitting moment when my legs hurt, my lungs feel heavy, my stomach in a knot, and my mind telling me 'too much'. All I really had to do was overcome one thought with another more positive one. Last night I did, after a full chest, shoulders, triceps workout I decided to get on the bike (mainly because the ellipticals and treadmills were full). I set the time for 15 minutes with a "hilly" setting. Well about 14 minuteas later I still felt good so I decided to keep going. I ended up doing 40 minutes. Although I don't consider the stationary bike a very daunting workout the fact remains I didn't think I was going to be able to do it when I first started.
Dig deep, you'll be surprised at what you find.
