Slick road conditions could have been a reason not to get going this morning -- but I pushed past that excuse and made my way to the gym. Jenny was already there working hard and I am glad I made the effort. What gets in the way of your success?
I went last night for first time - I felt great afterward. Plan to go every Mon - Wed if Any one cares to join . I know mornings are perferred, but with school age kids, kinda a hard to get to gym in mornings. (I know no excuse) but I do the treadmill walking in mornings. (early)
Eve-let me know where you are going to go. I heard that Bikram is an amazing workout. I wound up doing wii fit last night with the kids! So much fun. I did one hour that included step aerboics and hula hooping! My abs feel it today. Bonus-the kids had a blast and I got my workout in. Home for a snow day today and plan on lots of wii playing!
Richmond Hts studio, on Clayton Rd behind the Esquire. 5pm Fri, not sure what time sat yet, noon Sun is my plan. Call me if you want to check it ou 323 4008. $18/class and 2nd class is free for new students
Before I invested in some home DVDs/dumbbells, it was easier to put off going to the gym. Now I get up at o-dark-thirty most work days to work out at home. I did a cool new circuit routine yesterday, and 45 minutes of kickboxing this morning. Way to go, everybody who got it done today!
The only barrier I have is getting my butt to my basement, which I did at 5:30 this morning. 20 minutes on the treadmill and 1 set of stregth exercises.
@Andrea: Sweet! Excellent to hear. @Eve: Love the idea of sharing different work outs. Please post the times when you know them -- I may actually try it! @Betty: I'll bet we could get a group to participate with u. Glad to see you're moving ahead! @Nichole: Love to see o-dark-thirty! Know that it is a great challenge to make that first move out of bed. I have to chant to myself "put your feet on the floor," cause once I do that, I'm on my way! @angie: Recognition of the challenge puts you 50% on your way to success! Mike: So happy to see you putting forth the effort. Keep it going!
Surprisingly the road conditions actually made me get moving a little earlier. I think it may have been in my subconscious to get moving because the roads were supposed to be bad. Its always hard in the Morning but I feel good afterwards. Mornings are hard but I can't seem to work out at any other time. What helps me is if I get ready the night before and put my cloths in the car. Then I have to get up. Speaking of which...
Can I share a website? I thought of this after today's lunch conversation about quick meals during the week. http://billandchelle.com/fitness/food_plan.html#Sunday_Food_Prep This lady is clearly OCD (which I can totally relate to!) But she has some great ideas for prepping food on the weekends so you can grab-and-go for weekday lunches/dinners. Plus, I'm really just inspired by the story she shares of her weight-loss journey.
I almost gave into the snow excuse but quickly removed that idea from my head. Packed my workout bag and I plan to be at the gym again after work.
ReplyDeleteI prefer to work out at night so that's my excuse to never go in the morning. But then some nights I'm too worn out-
ReplyDeletePlanning to go to bikram yoga 3 times in the next 4 days :) anyone interested?

ReplyDeleteThe only thing that gets in the way of my success is me, I have to be the one to push past the barriers and get to exercising!
