Would love to hear how everyone fared over the weekend! Post your successes, your challenges, or your source of inspiration. As the title implies, I'm changing things up a bit on our blog. In order to facilitate better conversation, there will now be one main post each week. Everyone can then easily see all the comments made, which will allow the dialog to flow (at least, that's the premise; we actually need you to engage in order for the flow to occur...).
So, welcome to week 2 of the Biggest Loser! Weigh in today!
While I did have a couple of cocktails over the weekend, I began my workout and walking program which I got from Maddy. I have to say, even though I am a little bit sore today, I feel great, and I lost 2.2 lbs this past week!
ReplyDeleteFor anyone thinking about joining a gym, I have a flyer in my office from Club Fitness -- $10/month with no contract or enrollment fees -- good until Jan. 31. There are a bunch of locations.
ReplyDeletePS, excellent work Scott!
There was no amazing weight loss this past week but if I look at the big picture I am on pace to win my race and hit my goal. I know that for a fact I am going to be sore tomorrow but...no pain no gain. Really looking forward to the first team workout tomorrow. I know that my success depends mostly on me, well probably all on me, but I do appreciate the support of my kids, My son took a piece of bread out of my hand this weekend and said, "Mom you don't want that put it back" It has been great to get to know my Team members better amd I think that the exchange of ideas at our Team lunch was just the beginning of great ideas to come. Congratulations to everyone for completing the first week!!!!!
ReplyDeleteChange One is a 12 week plan that can help during a lifestyle change like thew ine everyone has signed up for with this.
ReplyDeleteYOU VS CAN'T: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7zV6dm3VbB0&feature=youtu.be
ReplyDeleteWow. Every minute. Every day.
Matty Mo, did you mean to say.....like the wine everyone has signed up for with this...wine, there's wine? Wow this gets better every day. LOL Just remember no WHINING, psyched for Team Workout tonight!!!!! Honey Badger don't like whining.
ReplyDeleteIf you have not decided on a workout yet, bring this to the gym - read it ahead - planning is the key to any workout. if you are standing around asking yourself "what's next?" then your heart rate falls and you have a much less productive workout. If you can keep moving & increase intensity you can cut your workout time in half & burn more fat & calories. http://bodyforlife.com/downloads/exercise_guide.pdf
ReplyDeleteHappy with my first weigh in. Down 3lbs! Cooking up some homemade turkey meatballs and shredded chicken so I have good protein choices on hand. Love the website that Nicole gave us. Really helpful. Keep up the good work everyone!
ReplyDeleteFirst team workout tonight was awesome! Our team totally rocks! Angie, Jenny, Sharon, Rick, Scott, Mandy, Andrea, Joe, Lisa and Matt learned a lot of new moves (team favorites -- burpees, caveman and mountain climbers...) and really did the work. Thanks so much to everyone for showing up and getting to it. I was asked to post the workout since so much of it can be done at home, so here are the stations.
ReplyDeleteEach station is 30 seconds, no rest inbetween stations. After first circuit, rest 2 minutes. Go again.
1. Jumping jacks
2. Plank
3. Standing lunges
4. Burpees
5. Bent over row
6. Squats
7. Cave Man
8. Flyes (with band)
9. Sit ups
10. Mountain Climbers
11. Push ups
12. Jump squats
13. Pull ups
Also, a reminder that I will be out of town the remainder of this week, and until Friday of next week on the road shows. I am available by cell phone if anyone needs me. We will resume work outs the following week. Keep up the excellent work, team!
Oh, and how could I have forgotten? Thanks go to Jenny for my new favorite captain's shirt -- the awesome Honey Badger don't care!
ReplyDeleteHey! I want to learn this workout. Will someone work out with me on it? Maybe Friday afternoon? THANKS!
ReplyDeleteAwesome Team workout tonight, I want everyone who worked out tonight to know and believe it does get easier. Remember no pain to gain.
ReplyDeleteWorkout Crew: If you're a little stiff, or a little sore from last night, be sure to take some ibuprofen (not tylenol) and keep drinking water. Move around to keep those muscles loose. Keep your protein input high so you don't find yourself "starving." If you don't have a workout plan for today, try to get a good walk or light jog in, even if your legs are protesting your movements. The stiffness you feel will diminish, and diminish more quickly if you keep using those muscles.
ReplyDeleteMaddy, thank you so much for all the helpful tips you gave last night. I am sore in places I haven't been since high school soccer! I am happy with how the first week of BL went.
ReplyDeleteMissed your workout last night but I will do it @ home. Did make it to a late-night yoga class. I wonder how many workouts it takes to burn the 1-1/2 cookies I ate last weekend? did lose some weight last week, this week will be even better.
ReplyDeleteSorry to miss you guys last night - this sounds awesome! What kind of bands do you suggest for assisted pull-ups?
ReplyDeleteThe team workout was intense! Maddy is a drill sargeant honey badger! I feel good today but my legs are killing me. I feel like I spent the day skiing yesterday!
ReplyDeleteLast nights work out was great! My legs hurt!
ReplyDeleteI'm hearing lots of DOMS-related (delayed onset muscle soreness) moans in the office today, LOL!
ReplyDeleteWhat challenges are we anticipating this weekend? How are we planning to overcome them? My mom's visiting, so I'm planning a couple healthy restaurants to visit, and cooking the rest of our food at home to stay on-plan.
Yikes, in MN to attend the wedding of a college roommate , i feel like I am in carb hell, I brought workout clothes and will use fitness center at hotel. How many calories do you burn laughing?
ReplyDeleteLove that some of you feel the response of your muscles from our first workout! That means you're really giving it your all. I've spent the past two days sitting -- either in a car, in a meeting, or best of all, with my two granddaughters reading, and playing Dora the Explorer (of whom I was completely unaware until yesterday). Tomorrow is going to be an all out MetCon (metabolic conditioning) workout, with lots of core to round it out. What's keeping you on track this weekend?
ReplyDelete@Nichole: I'll bring the bands in for you to check out. Lots of options on Amazon.
@Angie: So glad you joined us! Hope the legs hurt in that way that says, I earned the pain!
@Jenny: resist the temptation of the carbaholics! Laughing is actually an excellent way to burn calories, and work the abdomen. Keep it hilarious!
Hey. Just burned 500 cals on the treadmill. Unofficial weigh-in shows I am dropping 1 lb a week. This is good! Eating better feels great and my digestive system is working better too! I can't even think about cheating! No toast, potatos, noodles or even a sandwich in two weeks. More fish, eggs and raw green veggies are wonderful. Have had to resist chips and the almost irresistable desire to drive through DQ but doing great! And ya'll are hilarious gimping around the office! Keep up the good work!
